1. Basic Information
LU An, Ph.D., Vice Dean of the DGUT-CNAM Institute at Dongguan University of Technology. He received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the School of Computer Science and Technology at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), and his Ph.D. from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST).
He served as a Teaching Assistant Coordinator and Assistant Computer Officer at HKUST. He led a team at the HKUST RFID Center conducting research on RFID and IoT technologies. Later, he worked at a bank in Hong Kong. He subsequently resigned to establish a business in Hong Kong, serving as the CEO.
He founded the HKUST Mainland Student Alumni Association and served as Executive Vice President. He also served as Vice President of the HUST Hong Kong Alumni Association, Vice President of the Hong Kong Young Expert Society (HKYES), Vice President of the Hong Kong Teachers Association of Chinese University Graduates, Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Overseas Students Association, Supervisor of the Supervisory Board of The Federation of Alumni Associations of Chinese Colleges and Universities in Hong Kong (CUAA), Director of the Federation of Hong Kong Hubei Associations, and Member of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Youth Federation.
In recent years, he has dedicated himself to teaching management and talent cultivation. He formulated and revised talent training schemes for majors including Computer Science and Technology, Data Science and Big Data Technology, and Artificial Intelligence. His "Smart Course" teaching practice case was selected as an "Excellent Case" at the "6th National Smart Education Innovation Conference & 2025 Annual Meeting of the Joint Conference of University Online Open Course Alliances". He has received numerous honors and awards, including the First Prize for DGUT AI-Empowered Education and Teaching Demonstration Cases, Excellent Teacher, Excellent Class Teacher, "Outstanding Mentor" for the "Yang Chen-Ning Innovation Class", IBM China Excellent Student Scholarship, HUST "Three Goods" Graduate Student, Outstanding Graduate, and Huawei Scholarship.
