On June 6, 2020, at 3:30 p.m. Beijing time and 9:30 a.m. French time, Chen Yihua, Secretary of the Party Branch and Executive Dean of the DCI, lectured online on ideology and politics to the students of 2017 studying in France entitled China’s Role in Fighting against the Epidemic.

First, Executive Dean Chen Yihua analyzed the current situation after the outbreak of the epidemic to the students by citing data. He stated that after the outbreak of pneumonia caused by Coronavirus, China's performance in epidemic prevention and control was put in place, which guaranteed the health and life of the Chinese people to the greatest extent. At present, the epidemic in China was effectively contained, but the overseas epidemic was still in the critical period. In the fight against the epidemic, China and the other countries in the world might share weal and woe. China promptly informed the World Health Organization (WHO) and relevant countries and regions of the epidemic in China, and provided emergency medical assistance to many countries and international organizations. This strongly counterattacked the false accusations of some western countries against China. Mr. Chen stressed that China's fight against epidemic was not only to protect the life and health of the Chinese people, but also to fulfill its responsibility for global public health and the fate and well-being of mankind.

Executive Dean also conveyed the concern and care for the students from both the DCIand Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (CNAM) and shared the measures in epidemic prevention and control at home with the students, to urge them to continue to obey the orders, remain vigilant and strengthen the consciousness to protect themselves. “The epidemic is a big test for all of us. I sincerely wish our teachers and students studying in France to make persistent efforts, keep the spirit of hard work, complete their studies in success, and study safely.” Executive Dean said.

Even though we are separated by thousands of mountains and rivers and experienced ups and downs, the Motherland and the Institute will always be the warmest backbone of overseas Chinese and French students. Studying abroad during the epidemic urges everyone to protect themselves, complete their studies with great efforts, and moreover, tell Chinese stories and spread the Chinese voice to the world.
