Going Out and Embracing the World

My life studying in France for one year is over. Here I’d like to share my perceptions of my overseas study and life. In September 2019, based on the teaching syllabus arranged by the cooperation agreement between Dongguan University of Technology (DGUT) and Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (CNAM), the students of 2017 went to CNAM to start their one-year overseas study. In the first half of the academic year, my study and life were fulfilled as I experienced open-oriented education that is different from eaching at home. In class,international teachers played a more guiding role and I felt the unique charm of teaching. And in life, at the very beginning, I felt confused and did not know what to do next, but gradually I tried to adjust myself to the surroundings and got used to the local lifestyle. On vacations, I went hiking and traveled to broaden my horizon and, in this way, I learned a lot about French culture and experienced a lot of exotic customs.

In the second half of the academic year, due to the epidemic, we had to start online study. Under the leadership of the DCIand the help of the teachers, we completed our studies in success. As forme, I really learned a lot during this year, and I got to know French culture, customs, and splendid landscapes.

The World is So BigThat It is Worth Exploring Slowly

From September 2019 to June 2020, the ten-month study life in France to me is a transitional point from inside to outside. Day after day, the local people and things we met helped us refresh our view of the world. The slow pace of life allows everything to proceed in an orderly manner, to sit down, to have a cup of coffee, to look at the passers-by outside the window, or just to have dinner and chat with good friends. Inadvertently, we had more time than ever to taste life and experience everything around us.

As I gradually adapted ourselves to life and study abroad, I learned how to arrange our studies and life more reasonably and how to make better use of time. In addition, French desserts and snacks such as Kesong, Makaron and Coriolis were also good companions in my life and helped us move forward step by step. Life is so charming.A ten-month study in France is destined to be high-lighted in our life.

Man Who Travels Far Knows More

During the year I studied and lived in France, I was very impressed withthe educational mode and lifestyle in France, understood the essence of the crafts and technologies in France and even in Europe, and also improved my spoken French a lot.

While reading a lot, I also traveled a lot inFrance. In the winter vacation before the outbreak of the epidemic, I went to different countries and cities to feel the local culture. Time studying inFrance passed quickly, but it yielded a lot. I am very grateful to the teachers in the Institute and Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (CNAM) for their tender care and guidance to help me out of the difficulties in life and study.

Experience and Think with Your Mind

This is a very special experience of studying abroad. In the classroom, in addition to the achievements of curriculum study, I think it is more about broadening my horizon and enlarging my mind. This is also psychological training. During this year, I overcame many challenges, completed my studies success and mastered the knowledge of related courses. Because of the outbreak oftheepidemic in the second semester, we had to learn online and it was a special experience for us that helped us to be more mature. I especially cherish this period of solitude, because I had more time to keep quiet and think on my own in learning and planning my future.
