On the evening of April 23, the DCI held a party construction event, watching the film ‘My Early Days in France’ in the institute lecture hall.

This film vividly narrates the progress of how the 16-year-old Deng Xiaoping and a group of progressive youths went to France to study under the work-study program and sought for a way to save the country and embark on a revolutionary road in the early 1920s.

Before watching the film, Han Tao, who is the temporary party branch secretary, briefly introduced the main content of the film to the students present. He also encouraged the students to honor the memory of the elder revolutionaries’ deeds, such as Zhou Enlai and Deng Xiaoping, which encourage us to move forward and create a better future.

Students intently watched the film during the viewing time. After watching the film, some of the college’s activists of party application and their classmates shared their feelings after watching the film.

‘Deng Xiaoping often says that I will grow up whenever he is in desperation. This is a phrase full of confidence and it inspires him to grow in times of trials and tribulation, obtaining the original driving force of his great life. As the successors in the new era, we must also grow up and shoulder the important task of rejuvenating the Chinese nation’, said Xiang Yurui, an activist of party application.

‘The film tells the story of the youthful days of the leaders of the Communist Party of China and the hard times when they struggled for their beliefs, which reminds me that our today’s life is so hard-won and we ought to treasure it. As a university student in the new era, we should strive harder to contribute to the Chinese dream’ said Chen Ruifeng.
