Major 1: Communication Engineering

It is a pilot major oftheDongguan University of Technology authorized by the state comprehensive reform center, a major withthecharacteristic features in Guangdong province and a major of the talent training program of excellent engineers in Guangdong province; It is also an advantageous major of Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiershe, which has a joint laboratory with French high-speed railway and Airbus.

Training Objectives

This major adopts the talent training mode of French engineer education to cultivate students to master the basic knowledge, professional theory, and basic skills in the field of communications and information, to enable students with the ability to design and develop the equipment and systems of communications, and the ability to plan and optimize networks of communications. After graduation, students can be qualified in the fields in communication equipment and system design, communication product and service development, network planning and optimization, communication technology management and marketing, communication engineering construction and other aspects, and will be talents of international compound technology with professional knowledge and quality of an engineer in the whole network.

Cultivation Standards

It is a four-year academic schooling system with 208 credits in total. During the four years, students will become advanced application-oriented innovative talents with asolid foundation, a wide range of knowledge, strong practical ability, and high quality.

Curriculum System

Focusing on the talent training goal of "advanced application-oriented innovative talents withasolid foundation, wide knowledge, strong practical ability and high quality", DCI has built a curriculum system of "one core, four principal lines and five platforms" for communication engineering.

Focusing on the talent training goal of "international compound technical talents withasolid foundation,awide range of knowledge, strong practical ability and high quality", DCI plans to build a curriculum system of "one core, five platforms and five principal lines" for communication engineering.

"One core" refers to the cultivation of practice and innovation ability. On one hand, by increasing the proportion of experimental and practical training hours, experimental courses are offered separately for core courses such ascommunication principle and system andsignal and system; Meanwhile, we are engaged to improve students' practical ability by introducing "short term" to comprehensive practical training, enterprise teaching, project-oriented practice, etc. On the other hand, cultivate students' innovation and entrepreneurship ability through "College Students' innovation and Entrepreneurship Project" and encouraging students to participate in discipline-oriented competitions and innovation-oriented and entrepreneurship competitions.

"Four principal lines", that is, the four aspects of ability training.

The mode of continuous training of English ability adopts the European modern language teaching mode through the immersion teaching method of "content-based" and "content and language integrated", to cultivate students' comprehensive application ability of English and improve their comprehensive language and cultural literacy, to meet the needs of social development and international communication. The mode of continuous training of professional ability means to cultivate and improve students' professional ability step by step from courses related to computer sciences and electronic technology in lower grades to Internet-related courses in higher grades.

There are 8 core team teachers (all with doctoral degrees and engineering background), including 4 professors, 2 associate professors and 2 lecturers.

DCI is equipped witha1-to-1 tutor classroom, round table classroom, communication engineering laboratory and production line laboratory, together with Advanced Manufacturing College of Dongguan University of Technology (Chang'an), Intelligent Manufacturing and Creative Design College of Dongguan Institute of Technology (Changping), French funded enterprises SGD pharma and EasyFactory, Chinese funded enterprises Maier Wireless Technology Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Gaoge Technology Co., Ltd Dongguan Jingdiao Co., Ltd. have established a cooperative engineering practice base.


Major 2: Mechanical Engineering and Automation

It is one of the first pilot majors oftheExcellent Engineer Training Program of Dongguan University of Technology authorized by the Ministry of Education, a major withthecharacteristic features in Guangdong province and a major of the talent training program of excellent engineers in Guangdong province. It is also an advantageous major of Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiershe with EU 5G Key Laboratory.

Training Objectives

This major adopts the talent training mode of French engineer education to cultivate students with professional skills, to master advanced manufacturing technology and mechatronics control, and to have the ability todesign and manufacturemechanical equipment and automatic control ofthemechanical manufacturing process. After graduation, students will be high-qualified internationally compound technical talents with innovative consciousness and entrepreneurial spirit, and will be engaged in design and manufacturing, application development, operation management and other work in mechanical engineering-related fields.

Training Objectives

This major adopts the talent training mode of French engineer education to cultivate and master software engineering project R&D and management skills, to havethesolid professional comprehensive practical ability in software system design, development, testing and maintenance. After graduation, students can work as professionals with compound software engineering technology and software engineering management and can be engaged in software system analysis and design, test and maintenance and project management.
